In April 2024, a two-week bioinformatics workshop took place in Nouakchott, Mauretania, organized by IMB (Bundeswehr Institute of Microbiology), GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation), and FLI (Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut).

Partners from ONARDEP (Office National de Recherches et de Développement de l'Elevage et du Pastoralisme), INRSP (Institut National de Recherches en Sante Publique), and CICM-Mali (Centre d´ Infectiologie Charles Mérieux) were trained in the analysis and interpretation of sequencing data. This dry lab workshop built on the wet lab workshop which had been held in September 2023.

A representative of the German Ambassador of Mauritania visited the participants during the workshop.
