The African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) networks field epidemiology and laboratory training programs in Africa. AFENET is a not-for-profit organization based in Kampala, Uganda, that works with Ministries of Health across Africa to develop sustainable programs and capacity to strengthen field epidemiology and public health laboratory capacity to manage disease outbreaks and other priority health problems. AFENET was established in 2005 and has presence in over 40 countries.
